  He is risen! He is risen!
Tell it out with joyful voice.
He has burst his three days' prison;
Let the whole wide earth rejoice.
Death is conquered; man is free.
Christ has won the victory.

 Come with high and holy hymning;
Chant our Lord's triumphant lay.
Not one darksome cloud is dimming
Yonder glorious morning ray,
Breaking o'er the purple east,
Symbol of our Easter feast.

. He is risen! He is risen!
He hath opened heaven's gate.
We are free from sin's dark prison,
Risen to a holier state.
And a brighter Easter beam
On our longing eyes shall stream.

I love that hymn.  That is why we are here on a mission, to help our young Elders and Sisters stay healthy and happy so they can:   "Tell it out with joyful voice."  We are able to share our testimonies as well.  A mission is such a blessing!

"The incomprehensible suffering of Jesus Christ ended sacrifice by the shedding of blood, but it did not end the importance of sacrifice in the gospel plan. Our Savior requires us to continue to offer sacrifices, but the sacrifices He now commands are that we 'offer for a sacrifice unto [Him] a broken heart and a contrite spirit' (3 Nephi 9:20). He also commands each of us to love and serve one another” in effect, to offer a small imitation of His own sacrifice by making sacrifices of our own time and selfish priorities."        Dallin H. Oaks, "Sacrifice"

.

"To those who stagger or stumble, he is there to steady and strengthen us. In the end he is there to save us, and for all this he gave his life. However dim our days may seem they have been darker for the Savior of the world."
Jeffrey R. Holland, "This Do in Remembrance of Me", Ensign , November 1995

Last Sunday we had the missionaries in our ward over to dinner.  There are 6 missionaries in the Los Alamitos Ward.
This is Elder Walker and Elder Jesperson, relaxing.
Elder Walker, Elder Tolman, Elder Jesperson, Sister Youngberg
 Sister Jessop, Sister Andelin and Elder McOmber

Sister Jessop tried on Elder McOmber's hat. Looking Good!
Sister Amy Reynolds showing all the packages.  The mailman said that Easter was as busy as Christmas.  One day he brought 20 packages, the next 30.  This could be due to our increased numbers.

This is the Reynolds who work in the office.  The Rothschilds do a hunt by giving clues and looking for the Easter basket.  It was fun for all to follow and find the clues.
They found it!  Then they hid the clues again for the AP's and Elder Jesperson
This morning our ward had an Easter sunrise breakfast with pink, green and blue pancakes and lots and lots of yummy fruit.  Elder McOmber supervised the pancake cooking.  He was planning to help, but they had plenty of help.
The blue heron are nesting.  There are at least 8 nests in sight of our motor home.  They make strange noises.  Anxious to see the babies.
We went on a bike ride.  Flowers are everywhere.

"I express my profound thanks to a loving Heavenly Father who gives to you, to me, and to all who sincerely seek, the knowledge that death is not the end, that His Son--even our Savior Jesus Christ--died that we might live. Temples of the Lord dot the lands of many countries. Sacred covenants are made. Celestial glory awaits the obedient. Families can be together forever."Thomas S. Monson, "The Profound Power of Gratitude",  Ensign, September 2005

  1. What a beautiful Easter post! I was so touched by the music today and will keep singing "He is Risen" in the coming days because it brings such a powerful spirit! Thanks for all you do!
